Board Books, Max's Valentine
Title: Max's Valentine
Author: Rosemary Wells
Publisher: Penguin Young Readers Group
Publish Date: 2003
ISBN: 0-670-03668-4
Bethany's Rating: 4/5
Summary: This book is about Max wanting a piece of candy. He asks Ruby while she is making valentines and she says no. By the end of the book Max receives a Valentine from Ruby and it has candy in it!
Evaluation: This book is a nice story for entertainment. The only thing I would add would be a life lesson. Someone reading the story to a child could try to expand on the importance of waiting and how Max waited and got what he wanted.

Max and Ruby are well known and well loved characters. What do you think make them so appealing to children?
ReplyDeleteIs this book based off of the children's show max and ruby? I remember seeing that on tv when I was little! Sounds like a cute story.
ReplyDeleteThe Max and Ruby books are so eye appealing to children! I would have to agree with you that I would have to add a moral to the story as well after reading it.
